Credit card Callers...!

One of my friend sent me an email about how he handled the 'menace' of the banks who kept calling him frequently asking him to buy credit cards !! This is how he tackled them..and no wonder he didnt receive any call after this.. Read the below mail of his..

Hi All,
This is my personal mail...not a forward..

Actually, one girl from Standard Chartered bank daily called our extension and asked us to take their credit card.

We told her many times that we don't want their credit card but she kept calling us daily.
Today, as usual I recieved her call, and I started talking with her:

she: Do you want SCB credit card sir??

Myself: what is ur opinion about HSBC credit card??

She: pardon sir..

Myself: confused, how long you are working for SCB??

She: Since one year sir, why sir??

Myself: I want to know how much I can trust your bank....

She: ok

Myself: can I know where is this HSBC bank in hyderabad?

She: Why sir?

Myself: I have to return their card, so that I can take yours....

She: No need, you can have multiple cards??

MySelf: Then who will pay multiple bills??

She: That depends on your usage...

Myself: (suddenly) What is your current age?

She: current? (shocked a bit) current age aaaa? what current age??

MySelf: Sorry, I want to ask you about your current salary

She: Why?

MySelf: just for time pass...

She: .........(kept her phone)..

I am in no hurry....so I called her back...(now don't say this is too much)

Myself: Hello is it SCB..

She: Yes sir...(yeah I recognised her voice...she is the same girl)

Myself: Can, I know way to Imax theatre from your SCB...

She: ooh you, sir I recognised your voice, please sir I am little bit busy...

MySelf: I am also busy....but some how I make out some time to talk with you..

She: But I can't..

MySelf: Ok evening I will meet you in SCB...after your office hours

She: Why sir.,

MySelf: To find out the way to Imax.

She: Don't you know really..

MySelf: no, I am new to this place

She: It is near Kairathbad. any autowala can take you there...

MySelf: But I will come in my bike.... now where shall I keep my bike, if I take auto.. ???

She: Sir, i am busy now...

MySelf: Ok Ok..atleast tell me where is your house...

She: why??

Myself: To keep my bike in your house...

She: ....(kept her phone again& NEVER called back :))

Ha ha ! That's a nice way to handle such callers.

I normally ask such callers who they wanna talk to... and invariably they would say "Unga kitta thaan". So, I just tell them not to call me if they dont know my name and hang up.

Couple of tips that I got from a colleague !

1. You can say that this call is being recorded and would be produced as proof of the unsolicited call. Unsolicited calls are not legal and action can be taken against the same. Invariably, the voice on the other end would slowly fade.

2. He once called up the VP marketing of a bank and asked him if he wanted to buy software. The VP just told him that he was in the middle of a meeting. And so my colleague told him that this is what happens everytime he gets a call from the bank... and so for every call he gets, the VP was assured a call from him for selling softwares. He never heard from the bank again.

Now I have another way to handle such callers.

@nanyaar,

once upon a time i was returning from ahemedabad. i get a call, it gets disconnected. anxiousl to know if it was an impoortant call, i call that number.

and then the dreaded voice,

"Good afternoon sir, i am from ABN AMRO credit cards..."

i managed to keep myslef under check. not exactly printable words were in my mind.

Imagine getting a call when u r in roaming. i wish someone takes them to court.

its the poor girls who need to make this for a living.

koncha paavama daan irukkum...

@random,

ROTFL .. You didn't tell how should females handle this !!!!!

Once I happened to attend a call that came to my friend's mobile. It was for a credit card alright!!!

When I said that my friend was not available, the lady suddenly became interested in me and started asking me questions about credit card stuff !!! :(
